QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Why is a LiFePO4 battery more economical than lead-acid?
LiFePO4 batteries offer 5,000+ cycles, while gel/lead-acid batteries typically last 300–500 cycles. Usable capacity (DoD) is 80–100% versus roughly 50% for lead-acid, which lowers total cost of ownership.
What is a BMS (Battery Management System)?
A BMS monitors cell voltage, current and temperature, protects the battery against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current and over-temperature, and balances the cells. Limacell batteries use our own BMS and software.
Do you manufacture batteries in custom sizes and capacities?
Yes. We offer OEM and custom manufacturing for battery packs tailored to size, voltage and capacity. Reach our engineering team via the quote form or the contact page.
How can I buy a battery?
You can buy standard products from our store (shop.limacell.com). For project-specific or bulk requests, please use our Get a Quote page.
How can I become a dealer?
Simply fill in the form on the Dealer Application page. Your application will be reviewed and we will get back to you.
How do I submit a technical support request?
Use the form on the Technical Support page or write to info@limacell.com. Including the product model and a short description of the issue speeds things up.
How long does a LiFePO4 battery last?
With proper use LiFePO4 cells can deliver thousands of cycles and in many applications a calendar life beyond 10 years. Actual life depends on depth of discharge, temperature and charging habits.
Is a lithium battery safe?
LiFePO4 chemistry is considered one of the safest lithium types thanks to its high thermal stability. Safety also depends on quality cells, a proper BMS and correct charging.
How should I choose a battery?
First determine the voltage and the energy (Wh) you need, then consider current demand, operating environment and charging source. If unsure, you can consult our engineering team.
Does the information in your articles apply to every product?
The articles are for general information. Always refer to the product specifications and manufacturer instructions for your product’s charge, current and temperature limits.
